Rebecca Zemans
I strive to make art accessible to everyone, by transforming my conceptual ideas into sculptural jewelry.

The designs derive from my fascination with biological cells viewed through a microscope and celestial bodies viewed through a telescope. When I look through the lenses, I don’t just see cells and stars, but the patterns that repeat themselves in every aspect of our world. From architecture to anthropology the patterns can be found anywhere and are celebrated in my work.

Inspired by classic jewelry, I create timeless pieces that are subtly different. The end result is jewelry that is clean and simple – easy to wear by everyone. It’s important for me to employ sustainable practices by using recycled metals and making everything locally in Chicago.

The forging process I use recalls the ancient tradition of metalworking, continuing the history of adornment using precious metals and gemstones that have been valued throughout time…

Because I makes each piece by hand, requests for custom pieces are welcomed. If you are interested in carrying my work in your store or starting a collection, please contact raz@rebeccazemans.com.
